Locals plan ‘Two Front’ tribute to World War II, vets

The saga of World War II will come to Memorial Hall Sunday (Nov. 10) when a one-act play is performed to help observe Veterans Day in Hettinger County.
The play will start at 4 p.m. Sunday and is a presentation by the New England Public Drama group.
According to officials, the play was written years ago as a competition play with a 30 minute time limit.
It was designed to explore the two sides of World War II: the war front and the home front.
The scourge of war is seen on the battlefield as brave soldiers risk their lives for their country.
Back home, worried wives and mothers pray that they won’t receive grave news about a loved one while they work to keep the factories going and discover what it’s like to do the kind of work that was previously reserved for men alone.
