The Clippers will be coming to Mott Friday trying to recover from an 0-3 start.
Strasburg/Zeeland started the season off with a 42-15 loss to the Linton/HMB Lions.
A week later, the Clippers lost a 36-6 road battle with the Napoleon/G-S Imperials (Aug. 30).
The Clippers hosted the Beach Buccaneers Sept. 6, only to lose again by a 36-6 score.
The visitors will be meeting a team trying to rebound from a 48-6 road loss to Grant County/Flasher
a week after the Wildfire dominated the Hettinger-Scranton Night Hawks for a 28-6 win.
As of Monday (Sept. 9), according to the NDHSAA website the Wildfire were in third place with a 1-0 regional record behind Beach (3-0) and Linton/HMB (3-0).
The Wildfire actually has a 1-1 record in the region, but a win Friday would improve the squad to 2-1 in the regional standings
The Mott-Regent/New England is also holding its annual football/volleyball homecoming supper, which will be sponsored by the Mott-Regent Booster Club.
The supper will be held Friday following the football game, feeding both football teams, in addition to the volleyball team.
According to a spokesman, the supper will be serving sloppy joes, chips, potato salad, pickles, along with several other salads, and cookies. Approximately 100 people are expected at the dinner, the spokesman added.
