Wheat Harvest Jamboree kicks off with car show

There may be a threat of rain throughout the weekend, but the annual Wheat Harvest Jamboree in New England starts Friday at 2 p.m. with the Top Line car show at Riverside Park and will close out Sunday with a kid’s rodeo in the same location.
In between the two events will be two days of events, food vendors, mud volleyball, street dancing and the “Saturday Night Lights” parade through the city.
The registration for the Third annual Top Line All Wheels Car Show will hold registration at 2 p.m. Friday, with the show officially starting at 3 p.m. Afterwards there will be music in the park and a bonfire, weather permitting.
There will be a $5 admission charge for family, $2 for adults and $1 for children to the car show. There will also be kids games for 2-to-3 year olds and 4 to 5 year olds starting at 5:30 p.m.

Saturday events
Saturday morning, the jamboree kicks off at 9 a.m. with a Ford Test Drive fundraiser at the New England Public School. The test drives will end at 2 p.m.
The jamboree will continue with a street fair and vendor show on Main Street from 10 a.m. To 2 p.m. In addition, there will be kids jumpers by The Creamery from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m along with pie and ice cream offered at the Senior Center from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
At noon, there will be a free will lunch offered at the Lions Park.
Mud Volleyball will begin at 12:30 p.m. with registration and followed by the tournament. Registration forms are available at Country Style in New England. For more information, call Gabbi at 701-590-4790.
There will be a Horseshoe tournament starting at 1 p.m. in Lions Park.
At the Riverside Park arena, a Pony and Horse Pull will begin at 3 p.m.
From 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., there will be Indian Tacos served by the New England Library at Memorial Hall..
The Gunners Food Truck will start offering a dance and supper at 7 p.m. on Main Street.
The Saturday Night Lights parade will start at 8 p.m., with the “floats” all lit, from the school.
The street dance will go from 9 p.m. until midnight in the city’s maintenance building, with the Mud Butte Band performing.

Sunday event
There will be only one scheduled event Sunday – the Kids Rodeo at the Riverside Park arena. The participants are supposed to check in at 10 a.m. The rodeo will begin at 11 a.m.
