‘Celebrate Mott’ kicks off Saturday

The second annual Celebrate Mott event will be held all day Saturday throughout Mott.

In addition to the Classics on Wheels show which will start at 9 a.m., the tour of the proposed Cannonball Hiking Trail, the Art Show, the Woodworking and Pottery Booth , the Scarecrow making contest, the Hot Dogs Pet Grooming, Celebrations by Design and the Pedal Tractor Museum will be starting at the same time.

Among the other events during the day will be the junior high volleyball contest against Hettinger-Scranton in the Mott Armory at 10 a.m.

The Mott Gallery of History and Art will also be opening at 10 a.m., while the youth registration will begin for the cornhole tournament (tourney starts at 11 a.m.),

The Senior Citizens will be the early risers, kicking off the “Celebrate” with coffee, rolls, Ham sandwiches and pie in the Senior Citizen Building.

Just for the Health of it will be holding a series of sessions, starting at 9 a.m. with yoga, followed by other sessions about every half hour.

Rootbeer floats will be available at Eidos at 11:30 a.m., while right outside Eido people can sign up for a library card until 3 p.m.

There will also be a series of kids games from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. The games were scheduled to be in Bope Park, by the possibility of rain has moved it the school gymnasium.

However, there has been some changes, according to organizers.

With the forecast of rain, the 3 p.m. meal has been moved to the City Hall Garage.

The walk will meet at the shelter in the Legion Park. Organizers advise to bring rain gear since Saturday because of the rainy forecast.
