The New England Library ended its summer program with a flourish as it held a picnic at Lions Park Aug. 8 in the local park.
According to the librarian, there were 53 participants in the program that ran from June 1 to August 1.
Each child received a flyer to place stickers on for every book they read during that time.
“Wednesday mornings we had an hour for the different age groups to come to library to do projects related to our theme “A Universe of Stories,” she explained.
The children also worked on moon rock painting, gravity art, made rockets, glow in the dark t-shirt painting, star mobile and made night animal masks.
McDonalds of Dickinson provided burgers and drink and prizes for participants.
The prizes were t-shirts, throw blankets, hats, pop sockets, and puzzles.
