Tree planting assistance deadline nears for landowners

The Slope-Hettinger Soil Conservation District will be ending its financial assistance for tree planting Aug. 23.
The district has been awarding funds through the North Dakota Heritage Fund as a way to assist land owners with the cost of tree plantings.
According to the district, a landowner is eligible to receive 75 percent cost share of the actual project cost for the machine planting of trees and installing weed barrier fabric.
Those interested in applying must file the application by Aug. 23 at the district office in the USDA Service Center at 319 Brown Avenue in Mott.
