The children of the late Mike and Wilma Hartze recently donated 25 U.S. Flags for Regent’s Main Street, plus two 5 by 8 foot flags for the American Legion and the Regent Cemetery.
The three Hartze sons, James, Robert and Gary joined with their sister, Carmen, to make the donation.
Both Mike and Wilma Hartze grew up in Beulah-Hazen.
They moved to Mott, and later went to Regent where they purchased the Regent Bar from George Rohr in 1951.
The couple owned Mike’s Bar until retiring in 1972. They lived in the former Raymond Larson house.
Mike passed away in 1990, while Wilma followed in 2018.
According to a spokesman for the American Legion Post 273, the post was very appreciative of the family’s flag donation.
