There will be a New England student spending a week in Wyoming in an effort to win a national championship.
Ellie Rettinger of Amidon qualified for the National High School Rodeo Championships in Rock Springs by finishing among the top four at the recent North Dakota High School Rodeo championships in Bismarck in June.
She finished third in the pole bending competition in Bowman, placing behind Abby Heppner, Cassidy Davidson and ahead of Kelly Bang from Killdeer.
She isn’t the first.
She is following in the footsteps of Amidon’s Nickolas Rettinger who qualified in 2018 for the nationals in track shooting.
