Highway Treasure Hunt starts Friday

Highway 21 will become a giant rummage sales later this month.

North Dakota’s largest rummage sale, the annual Highway 21 Treasure Hunt, scheduled for 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. MT Friday and Saturday, June 21-22.

According to Luann Dart, who is organizing the event, participating communities holding citywide rummage sales include Flasher, Carson, Heil, Elgin, New Leipzig, Mott, Regent and New England. Rural residents are welcome to host sales, too. The St. Anthony area will also be hosting sales.

Anyone holding a sale is encouraged to stay open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. MT both days. Those who plan to have their sale during different hours should state those hours on the listing.

Those holding sales will not be charged. All advertising costs are paid for with donations from civic-minded organizations, including the Hettinger County Job Development Authority and West River Telecommunications Cooperative.
