At its regular monthly meeting May 2, the Aton Ulijohn Post 66 American Legion elected officers for the coming year.
Commander – John Plaggermeyer Jr.
Vice-Commander – Allan Schmidt
Adjutant – Joe Bohlman
Finance Officer – Butch Frank
Chaplain – Duane Dobitz
Sergeant-At-Arms – Bill Hanson
The applications for scholarships were approved.
These will be given at the NEHS graduation May 19.
Continued plans for the annual Memorial Day service were set for 10 a.m. May 27 and will be followed by a potluck meal.
Edward Dick of Dickinson, a member of Post 66, will be the speaker.
The American Legion was saddened to learn of the passing of one of its oldest members – Gilbert Stenmoen, age 99 or Bismarck.
This leaves only two legon members of the New England Post who served in World War II – Henry Kovar of Dickinson and Jack Rafferty of Hettinger.
