Wildfire boys, girls aim for tournament

Mott-Regent closed out the girls basketball Region 7 schedule with a 61-44 victory Tuesday over visiting Beulah in the Mott Armory.
The win ended a three-game losing streak after the Wildfire had fallen to Beach (53-47), Hettinger-Scranton (75-34) and Heart River (50-33).
The win put the Wildfire (5-6, 10-9) in seventh place in the Region 7 standings with tournament play scheduled to start Friday with play-in games.

Mott-Regent will be on the road Friday to play the Night Hawks in Scranton.
The Wildfire are 6-3 in the Region 7 standings with two ganes left.
After Friday’s road game, the Wildfire will host Washburn Feb. 16 at 5 p.m. and Richardton-Taylor Feb,. 22.
The Wildfire has lost two straight, falling to Trinity 53-49 and to Beulah on Feb. 8 by a 78-50 margin.
Mott-Regent is fifth in the regional standings.
