Aiden Rebel’s 28-point effort Tuesday helped the Tigers pull away for a 67-57 non-conference win over visiting Harding County.
The two teams were tied after the first quarter and the Tigers barely clawed out a one-point lead at halftime (32-31).
It wasn’t until the final quarter when Rebel repeatedly found openings under the basket that the Tigers began to pull ahead of the vising Ranchers from South Dakota.
Tigers rip Cowboys
Rebel led the Tigers to a 60-51 decision over Killdeer Saturday, thanks to 26 point night.
Killdeer scored 21 points in the final quarter but the Tigers scored 23.
After a slow start, the Cowboys tied the game at 11-11, but fell behind 24-21 at halftime.
New England’s Jaxon Hewson added 18 points, while Pablo Ruez hit for eight and Logan Wolf scored seven. Zachary Madler finished with with two points in the win.
It was the second win for the Tigers in regional play.
Daylon Danks led the Cowboys with 24 points, while Kacen Gartner had 11 and freshman Tyler Hansen put in eight. Kostner Benz-Weber added four, while Keith Dukart and Michael Moreno each scored two.
