Local students win state contest

Natalie Wiesinger of the Mott/Regent Public School was the second place winner in a recent statewide contest entitled “Thank a farmer or rancher and tell about a product they raise”.

Jaycia Thomas also of Mott/Regent Public School received one of the three honorable mentions.
Other winners were Delaney Denault of Cavalier with first place and Natalia Kessel of Belfield with third place. Eli Applegate and Morgan Tyler both of Beach also received honorable mentions.
Many entries were received from schools and individual students throughout the state. They entered from Bowbells, Beach, Belfield, Mountain, Bismarck, Garrison, Cavalier, Fairfield, Park River and Mott/Regent.
The top three winners received a check for their efforts and every participant received a colorful personalized certificate.
The statewide contest was sponsored by North Dakota Women Involved in Farm Economics (WIFE) which is a grassroots organization committed to improving profitability in production agriculture and promotion of all commodities. For more information about WIFE contact Marlene Kouba at 701-563-4560.
