Regent Ambulance Service wins grant

Regent Ambulance Service recently won a $1,000 grant from the Rural Development Finance Corporation.

According to a spokesman, the funds will be put to use by purchasing a generator and natural gas heating to run during a power outage or disaster.

The Regent Ambulance Service is the designated disaster center for the surrounding area.

The spokesman for Consolidated Telecom, a member of the Rural Development Finance Corporation (RDFD), the funds will enable the ambulance service to better accommodate the citizens in the Rgent area.

Communities are eligible for grants of up to $2,000 for community-based projects.

In addition, the RDFC also offers a larger loan program with low interest rates.
