Mott lights up county building for the season

Mott will be lighting up again as it celebrates the Christmas season with its annual Christmas decorating contest in the county building.

The winners were decided Dec. 13 but the displays will remain for people to view.

The contest was open to non-profit organizations.

The winner receives $125, with second earning $20, while the people’s choice selection will get a $25 award.

The decorations and the trees at the county building will be up through New Years, according to Cynthia Marxen, the administrative assistant for the Hettinger County NDSU Extension office.

According to Marxwn, the  official entrants in the Christmas Tree decorating contest this season are:

Western All Stars 4H Club – Cowboy theme.

Flickertails 4H Club Hometown Heroes with a red, white and blue color scheme and has decorations with pictures from the Regent and Mott ambulanes, along with the County Sheriff Department;

The Farm Service Agency – decorated with sunflowers;

Hettinger County Family Services – hand ornaments;

Mott Ambulance – Code Blue with rescue equipment;

Mott Library – decorated  with pages from books;

Mott Region FFA – agriculture theme with dried corn;

Mott Region FBLA – assembled Dec. 12;
