Staff Report

Senior Eve Stegner won the Nov. 20 American Legion competition, which was broken into two sections.

The first was a six to eight minute prepared speech on the U.S. Constitution.

The other section was a three-to-five minute assigned topic where all the participants would speak on the same amendment to the Constitution.

The victory sent Stegner to the district competition Dec. 15 at Dickinson.

Freshman Jasmine Augare placed second in the local competition at the Anton Ulijohn Post 66, followed by sophomore Stetson Urlacher and freshman Will Schmidt.
