The Tigers may have been bounced out of the district voleyball tournament in the second round, but one New England player made a big impact on the opposing coaches.
Senior Elizabeth Kaufman was named to the all-Region 7 volleyball team.
She was one of the team leaders in aces with 29 over the season, with teeammate Emily Dinius having the team lead with 33.
Kaufman wasn’t the only Hettinger County athlete to get a post-season spot on the all- Region 7 volleyball team.
Senior Breanna Fiedt brought the Mott-Regent Wildfire into the regional tournament.
Dickinson Trinity eventually won the regional crown and were rewarded with a berth inthe state tournament and placing three players – Alexa Walby, Bre Tessier and Masy Kuntz – on the all-tournament team.
Kaufman was a five-year varsity player. “Eliabeth is an extremely coachable athlete. She wants to perform to the best of her ability every practice and every game,” New England coach Kay Moody said Tuesday.
