Mott-Regent will have a lot of time off to start the basketball season with both the boys and girls teams playing a combined total of five games in the first month of the season.
For the Wildfire, the season won’t really be starting until after the New Year.
There will be only two games in 2018 for the Mott-Regent boys basketball team – both on the road.
The rest of the Wildfire’s schedule will have to wait until after New Years Day.
The team starts with a long road trip to Linton Dec. 8 to take on the Lions in a 6:30 p.m. (CT) contest.
Then, the Wildfire will wait two weeks before heading to Hebron Dec. 20 to take on Glen Ullin/Hebron in a 7 p.m. battle.
After that, the Wildfire wll have a couple of weeks to cool off before they host Heart River Jan. 4 at 7 p.m. in the Mott Armory. Then the team will be on the road again for three straight games at Flasher (Jan. 5), Killdeer (Jan. 8) and New Salem – Alamot (Jan. 8).
Mott-Regent won’t have its first home game until Jan. 4 when they host Heart River.
A day later, Jan. 5, the team will be on the road again to visit Flasher for a 7 p.m. (CT) contest, followed by trips to Killdeer (Jan, 8) and New Salem-Almount (Jan. 10).
The Wildfire will be at home when the girls basketball season opens Dec. 13 when Mott-Regent hosts Grant County in the season opener at 7 p.m.
Faith will host the Wildfire Dec. 14, before the Mott-Regent squad returns to Hettinger County to host New Salem-Almont at 7 p.m. on Dec. 21.
The team will host New England to kick off the New Year with a Jan. 3 contest at 7 p.m. at the Mott Armory, then the Wildfire will be on the road again to Flasher (Jan. 5) and Trinity in Dickinson (Jan. 7), before they return home to host Glen Ullin/Hebron Jan. 10 in the Armory.
