Community Tree Celebration contest at courthouse

What: A community Tree Celebration Contest whereby your non-profit group or organization may decorate a tree, can be themed and/or your choice of decorations. Only artificial trees will be allowed. You provide a tree, (no size restriction), decorations, and a tree stand. There will be electrical accessibility. However, battery operated lights may also be used. Let’s celebrate Christmas, County Community Style!

Who: Any county non-profit organization in the cities of New England, Regent and Mott may participate in decorating a tree at the courthouse during the weeks of November 27th thru December 11th, between the hours of 7:30am and 4:30 pm Monday -Thursday and 7:30am to noon on Fridays. Please contact our office for special setup times, if the above time do not work for you.
Possible groups that can participate; Lions, American Legion, Auxiliary, 4-H, FFA, FBLA, FSA, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Theaters, Historical Society, Ambulance service, Fire and Rescue, and the Nursing Home.
Where:The trees will be decorated at the Hettinger County Courthouse and be on display for the general public to view and vote on.


Open House: An Extension Open House will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 12th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, during which time the public may also vote on a People’s Choice Award Winner. Extension will be celebrating 103 years of Extension Service. There will be hot cider, coffee, and holiday goodies to enjoy!
