Community tree celebration contest hosted at the courthouse

A community Tree Celebration Contest whereby your non-profit group or organization may decorate a tree, can be themed and/or your choice of decorations. Only artificial trees will be allowed. You provide a tree, (no size restriction), decorations, and a tree stand. There will be electrical accessibility. However, battery operated lights may also be used. Let’s celebrate Christmas, County Community Style!
Any county non-profit organization in the cities of New England, Regent and Mott may participate in decorating a tree at the courthouse during the weeks of Nov. 27 through Dec. 11, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday – Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to noon on Fridays. Please contact our office for special setup times, if the above time do not work for you.
Possible groups that can participate; Lions, American Legion, Auxiliary, 4-H, FFA, FBLA, FSA, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Theaters, Historical Society, Ambulance service, Fire and Rescue, and the Nursing Home.
The trees will be decorated at the Hettinger County Courthouse and be on display for the general public to view and vote on.
An Extension Open House will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 12 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., during which time the public may also vote on a People’s Choice Award Winner. Extension will be celebrating 103 years of Extension Service. There will be hot cider, coffee, and holiday goodies to enjoy!
