A funeral Mass for Bridget Urlacher, 86, of New England, was 10:00 a.m., Friday, Aug. 4, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, New England with Father Gary Benz celebrating.  Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation for Bridget was from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a rosary and vigil service being held at 7:00 p.m.

Bridget passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017 at CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck.

Bridget Marie Splichal was born June 13, 1931 in Dickinson, the daughter of Joe and Barbara (Kenzel) Splichal.  She grew up in Dickinson and attended school at St. Wenceslaus Catholic School through the eighth grade.  Bridget began working at the Lisco Inn as well at the local hospital and nursing home doing laundry.  It was during this time that Bridget met Ralph Urlacher.  The couple was united in marriage on January 8, 1958 in New England.  To this union six children were born:  Richard, Kenny, Debbie, Bev, Karen, and Barbie.  Together, Bridget and Ralph raised their family on the farm located on the south side of West Rainy Butte.  In 2005, she moved into New England and it is where she has made her home ever since.

Bridget was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Altar Guild in New England, New England Lions Clubs, 40-8’s, and TOPS.  Bridget loved and cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  They brought her great joy.  She enjoyed spending time watching games shows and playing Bingo.  She could often be found outside in her flower and vegetable gardens.  Bridget loved to cook borscht soup and dumpling soup, baking and entertaining.  She was famous for her refrigerator pickles, banana bread and chocolate chip cookies and shared them with all.  She was a very social person and enjoyed dancing

Bridget is survived by her children, Richard (Joan) Urlacher of Dickinson, Kenny Urlacher of New England, Deb (Chuck) Urlacher-Briske of New England, Bev (Gilbert) Braun of New England, Karen Kouba of Regent, and Barb (Keith) Kamholz of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sister, Lillian Krance of Bismarck; 20 grandchildren, Sara (Dallas) Lawrey, Amy Urlacher, Donald (Jackie) Urlacher, Heidie Urlacher, Julie (Darren) Rafferty, Bryce (Corrie) Urlacher, Destiny Urlacher, Lindsey (Aaron) Hetzel, Scott Wandler, Kari Wandler, Danny (Linda) Braun, Dana (Bradley) Adams, Jamie (Kayla) Kouba, Jenna (Daniel) Kilzer, Richard Kouba, Justin Buzalsky, Trevor (Andrea) Buzalsky Lawrence Buzalsky, Keshia Buzalsky; 27 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Monica Peterson and Jenny Tompers; brothers-in-law, Lawrence Urlacher, Herbert Urlacher and Calvin Dubisar.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Barbara Splichal; husband, Ralph Urlacher; brothers, Frank, Albert and Jerry Splichal; sisters, Elise Siaz, Martha Lips, and Betty Hauck; grandson, Joseph Kouba; father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Ethel Urlacher; sisters-in-law, Josephine Dubisar, Clem Urlacher, Jackie Urlacher and Chlorine Urlacher; brothers-in-law, Thomas Urlacher, Vets Urlacher and Gilman Peterson.
