The library in New England had a fun day to kick off the summer reading program and to start summer vacation. They had an inflatable super slide set up in back of the library for 4 fun filled hours on the last day of school.
The kids enjoyed sliding while the moms signed them up for the program. The slide was provided by Jumpers To Go out of Dickinson. On June 1st the library will begin their summer hours of Monday , Wednesday and Friday 10 to noon in addition to the regular hours of Tuesdays 3-6 and Wednesdays and Thursdays 3-5. All preschool thru 6th grade children are invited to sign up at the library where they will have a chart to record all books they read or listen to through June and July. There will be a picnic on August 3rd at Lions park to hand out prizes to all the children who have read some books. The 2017 program theme is Build a Better World so there will be contest at the picnic for the children who wish to build any Lego project to exhibit the evening. Details for the contest will be posted at the library.
New books on our shelves are: “The Fix” by David Baldacci, “The Girl Who Knew Too Much” by Amanda Quick, “Into The Water” by Paula Hawkins, “Secrets in Summer” by Nancy Thayer, and “Since We Fell” by Dennis Lehane.
