Mott Public Library News

Build a Better World is the theme for this year’s Summer Reading Program. This fits perfectly with our STEAM programs. We will continue to focus on science, technology, engineering, arts and math concepts in all of our activities.

Sign up for Summer Reading is June 5-9. Stop in to sign up the whole family. All books and reading counts. The sign up sheets and book logs will be available.

The Library will be closed on Monday, May 29 in observance of Memorial Day. Passive activities will be available for young patrons looking for something to do at the Library May 31.

Here is a peek at introductory activities. Young folks chose 5 Legos. They were then challenged to create a plane. 6 Legos, challenged to build a robot and describe what it does. 10 Legos and challenged to build a tree. Who lives in the tree.

Young folks were offered building supplies. Created a building supply list and challenged to create the tallest tower. We also build our snacks each day. Healthy foods for growing minds and bodies.

We at the Mott Public Library thank you all for your continued support. These programs run because of your generous donations. Donations of time, supplies, books and funds are greatly appreciated. We are almost half way through the year and about 1/3 of our budget for this year has been met. Keep your eye out for fundraisers, one of many ways you can support the programs at the Library. Thank you. Truly, thank you for allowing us to dream big for the children and our community.
