Ellie Messmer has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for the Dakota College at Bottineau Ladyjacks during the 2017-18 school year.

Ellie is a 5-foot-7 guard and played her high school basketball for the Mott/Regent Wildfire.

As a high school senior she averaged 15.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 3.3 steals per game. Ellie shot 45 percent from the field and 51 percent from the free throw line.  As a senior she was selected to the All-Region 7 team.

Coach Johnson’s comments:

We are very pleased to welcome Ellie to the Ladyjacks team.  We believe she has the ability to become a strong defender at our level of play.  Ellie has the athletic ability, intelligence, and drive to become a team leader on the defensive end of the court.  Offensively we like her ability to attack the basket.  She appears to be a strong finisher around the rim and also possesses the ability to create for others.  Ellie is a great example of the student/athlete we seek with strong character traits and the ability to succeed at a high level in the classroom.
