A Memorial service for Dean Klein, 74, of New England, was at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016 at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church, New England, with Pastor Bruce Peterson officiating.
Visitation for Dean was from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 7 with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson.
Dean passed away Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016 at CHI St. Alexius in Bismarck.
Dean was born July 13, 1942 in Elgin, son of Theodore and Gertrude (Schmidt) Klein. He was raised and educated in Lemmon.
Following graduation, Dean served in the National Guard for 9 years. After base training he met Cleo Surrell and they were married in 1964. They lived in Lemmon while Dean worked various jobs.
He was transferred to New England in 1971, while working for Fullerton Lumber. He had worked for several farmers before starting at Baker Boy in 1999 and retiring in 2014.
Dean was very crafty and enjoyed woodworking and leather tooling. He was a member of the American Legion and Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church.
Dean is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cleo; son, Jim (Dalena) Klein; daughter, Deb Wolfe (Jerry Thorstad); grandchildren, Miranda (Jake) Klemetson, Zachary Wolfe & Alexis Wolfe; great-grandchildren, Jordan & Oliver Klemetson; brothers, Ronald (Edna) Klein, LeRoy (Cindy) Klein; numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Gertrude Klein.
