Brady Wegh had his way with the Beach Buccaneers. The versatile senior scored five times in the 54-8 victory in Beach on Friday, Aug. 26, four times on the ground and once by air.
The Wildfire were coming off a close win at the Bye Week Bowl in Bismarck a week earlier, beating Hankinson 22-20 on a last-second interception by Aaron Roth.
The Buccaneers managed only one score, a second quarter 2-yard run by Josiah Orluck. The two-point conversion was good but Mott-Regent still had a lead of 24-8.
Hunter Crist, and Josh Wallace joined Wegh in the scoring party. Both of their scores were on the ground.
In total Wegh has scoring runs of 77, 67, 51 and 17 yards and threw a 45-yard touchdown pass to Cody Perkins. Crist scored on a 13-yard run and Wallace scored on a 30-yard run.
The Wildfire stay home this week and match up against the neighboring Grant County/Flasher. The Storm are coming off a 52-26 home loss against fellow Region 5 member New Salem/Glen Ullin.
