The first meeting of the newly organized theater group in New England brought together past members from the previous productions, along with some new members. The newly formed group, which decided on the name Rainy Butte Productions, has been having weekly meetings to start planning for their upcoming dinner theater.

The group decided on a comedy play called “Pistols and Posies,” which is about a 1920s mob scene that is proven to be a hilarious production with a surprise ending.

The 18 cast members have been cast for the production, with Donald Nordby directing the play and rehearsals scheduled to start next week.

The first dinner theater for the Rainy Butte Production is scheduled for Oct. 14, 15, and 21, with a matinee on Oct. 23. Prime Rib is on the menu with some new food options being discussed. Even though casting has been complete and rehearsals are starting next week, the Rainy Butte Productions are still in need of anyone who would be interested in other aspects of the dinner theater from stage help, to meal preparation or other help to make the dinner theater a success.

Since the proceeds of the first two productions went towards the Memorial Hall Elevator Project, the group is looking into more fundraising ideas to help with the cost of their first production as the newly formed group. If anyone or any business would like to support the theater group they are encouraged to get in touch with any one of the members of the fundraising committee, Becky Jacobs, Breann Krebs, Christa Schmidt, or Stacey Miller.

To group is also looking into writing another grant to help with the costs of the first production.
