The New England Public Library was happy to receive a donation of a baby quilt with matching doll blanket and a baby wall hanging for a raffle fundraiser. These items will be on display at the American Bank Center and Dakota West Credit Union through the summer. Tickets are available for $1 each at the banks or from a library board member. The drawing will be held on September 10 during the Wheat Harvest celebration.

The summer reading program is going great at the library. Over 50 children have signed up to keep a record of the books they read through  June and July. Families of participants who have earned stickers for reading are invited to a picnic on August 4th at Lions Park beginning at 6 PM.  McDonalds of Dickinson has given T-shirts, soccer ball , basketball, football, and other items to be used as door prizes at the picnic. Each child will also receive a bag of prizes from the library. There is a signup sheet  for the picnic at the library.

The Legion group of New England has given the library monies to  fund the book leasing program this year. The program allows the library to order 10 newly released books every month and keep some of these books for its collection.  Stop in at the library and check out the shelves of these books.
