New England School gives out annual awards

The annual New England Public School Elementary awards ceremony took place the last day of school on Friday, May 20. Special class awards, along with the State of North Dakota reading certificates were given out by each of the elementary teachers in grades Kindergarten through sixth grade.

The annual New England Public School Elementary awards ceremony took place the last day of school on Friday, May 20. Special class awards, along with the State of North Dakota reading certificates were given out by each of the elementary teachers in grades Kindergarten through sixth grade.

Mrs. Hanson presented awards and t-shirts to those elementary students who took part in the Million Word Readers. The Million Word Readers are students, who during the school year, have chosen to read at least a million words, if not more, in books that are in the student’s reading level.

Elementary Principal Kelly Koppinger stated what a great school year it has been and congratulated all of the students for their hard work and achievements during the 2015-2016 school year. Koppinger is excited to build on the accomplishments from this past school year and is looking forward to an even better 2016-2017 school year.

Koppinger also presented the students in grades five and six with Honor Roll certificates to those students who maintained at least a 3.0 GPA or higher during the school year.

Grade 5 Honor Roll: Matthew Bock, Destiny Bray, Hannah Frank, Justin Kathrein, Madison Kirschemann, Cadence Madler, Maddie Rayhorn, Brady Rustan, Jess Schulz, Samantha Volk, and Molly Wolf

Grade 6: Chailynn Admidin, Jasmine Augare, Jersey Binstock, Emma Bock, Tavion Clevenger, Hannah Corson, Chevy Dhamers, Grace Dinius, Wyatt Dorner, Avery Frank, Justin Gill, Zack Jalbert, Nathan Kaufman, Grace Madler, Dawson Richter, William Schmidt, and Cherokee Warnecke

Million word readers: Grade 2: Mark Schmidt, Grade 3: Teddy Kirschemann, Grade 4: Alixander Covert and Elias Traut, Grade 5: Matthew Bock, Madison Kirschemann, Cadence Madler, and Molly Wolf.
