Albert, the son of Peter J. and Katie (Scabath) Schulz, was born on Jan. 18, 1923 on a farm in Stark County near Lefor, ND. He served as an altar boy at Stephen’s Church, and attended school in Stark and Hettinger County. In 1937, his father and family moved to a 3200 acre farm southeast of Mott called the “Rex Ranch.” Albert helped his dad supervise the farm and ranch. They raised horses, Hereford cattle, hogs, sheep, ducks, chickens, and turkeys. In 1945 Albert and his brothers took over the family farm until 1957, and then divided the farm so they each had their own farm.
Albert married Delores Otto on Sept. 17, 1957, they raised three children; Carmen, Allen, and Jackie. Albert retired from farming in 1984 and moved to Mott. He enjoyed taking care of his lawn and yard, and he was very particular about keeping his pickup clean and shiny. He was also able to fix or repair just about everything. Albert loved listening to polkas and waltzes on his radio while working in his garage. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He entered the Mott Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home on Feb. 4, 2016 and there he enjoyed making people smile & laugh with his quick sense of humor.
Albert is survived by his daughters; Carmen (Don) Schaible, and Jackie (Monty) Larson; his son, Allen (Randeen) Schulz all of Mott; his brother, Charles ‘Leonard’ Schulz of Lynnwood, WA; sisters-in-law, Katherine Schulz of Velva, ND, Janice Schulz of Bismarck, ND, and Katherine Combs of Mandan, ND; his brother-in-law, Ed Glasser of Wright, Wyoming; 11 grandchildren: Nicci, Bert (Jackie), Evan, and John Schaible; Steven Schulz; Justeen (Dave) Hodgson, Mandy, Josh, and Marshall Larson; 3 great grandchildren; Violet, Liam & baby Schaible.
