David M Roller, 66, Gilbert, Ariz., died Feb. 18, 2016 at home under the care of his loving family and hospice, due to a brain tumor.

Mass of Christian burial was held at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Gilbert, Ariz. on Feb. 24, 2016.  Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
David was born on August 31, 1949 to Frank and Cecilia (Friedt) Roller in New England, ND, the seventh child in a family eventually totaling nine children; one girl and eight boys.  He was raised on the family farm, received his education at St. Mary’s Catholic grade and high school and graduated in 1967. After graduation, he joined the Navy.
He married Debbie Bye on July 15, 1972 and completed his military stint in 1974.  He and Debbie raised their family of three, Douglas Scott, Kimberly, and Robert in the Mesa/Gilbert area.
Dave worked as a butcher for Fry’s Food Store until his retirement in 2011.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Debbie; their three children, Douglas Scott (Cindy), Kimberly (John) Taylor, and Robert (Candace) all of the Phoenix area; six grandchildren;  six siblings, Mary Privratsky,  Dickinson, Jim (Betty), Eugene, OR, Tom (Jan), Chancellor, AL, Victor, Bismarck, ND, Ron (Char), Beloit, WS, and Ben (Diane) Bismarck, ND; mother-in-Law, Louise Bye, Mesa, AZ; sisters-in-law, Jodi Roller (Bob Martinson), Bismarck, ND, and Kathy (Bob) Walsh, Larimore, ND; and brother-in-law, Richard (Glenda) Bye, Phoenix, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Cecilia Roller; brothers, Albert and Joseph; nephews, Peter, Joseph, Mark, Calvin, and Davey; nieces, Betsy and Sharon; and father-in-law, Richard Bye.
