George A. Green, 92

George A. Green was born on December 1, 1923 to William L. and Barbara (Srb) Green near Regent, ND where he was raised on the family farm.

He attended a country school near his home. During his childhood, he worked on the family farm and later on ventured out on his own and began farming land he rented.

On July 2, 1944, he was united in marriage to Alice F. Olson at Wibaux, MT. They were blessed with 4 children. In 1946, they moved south of Mott where they purchased a farm.

George served on the Chandler Township Board, was a member of the Eagles Club, and Hettinger Lutheran Church.

George spent 7 years of his life during the 1960’s custom combining with his partner Frank Miller of Mott. Frank is a lifelong, special friend. George retired in 1997 and soon after moved to Hettinger. The family farm has stayed in the family as George is blessed with having a special nephew and wife, Rodney and Sheila Novak having purchased it.

His wife Alice passed away on November 10, 1983. George continued to live in Hettinger and resided at the Western Horizons Assisted Living Center. He passed from this life there early Wednesday morning, January 6, 2016 at the age of 92 years, 1 month, 5 days.

George is survived by his 4 children, Sharon (Harvey) Kenitzer, Polson, MT; Diane (Duane) Carroll, Carson City, NV; Georgette Wandler, Carson City, NV; Douglas (Kathy) Green, Dayton, NV; his grandchildren, Shelley (Joe) Quinn, Scott (Anna) Carroll, Troy (Mindy) Wandler, Laurie Carroll, Lindsey (Nick) Green, Corinna (Cort) Arlint, and Daniel (Kelly) Green; his 8 great grand children, Jordan and Dylan Quinn, Stella Carroll, Brandon Wandler, Madison Carroll, Tristan Howe, Kylie and McKale Green; and his brother, Harvey (Helen) Green, Mott, ND. He is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews, and his special friend, Marguerite Schmaltz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Barbara Green, his wife, Alice, 1 sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Leonard Novak.
