Eleanore C. Krug was born on December 5, 1923, in Taylor, ND, to Mike and Mary (Gillenberg) Krug.
She grew up with eight siblings in Taylor, ND. Her father worked for the railroad, then on a farm north of Taylor. Eleanore helped take care of the farm and especially loved the horses. She was the only one in her family to graduate from high school. She used her education to teach at a country school and later she worked at the Richardton Hospital. Her family eventually moved to a farm north of Regent, ND.
Eleanore married Edward “Eddie” Honeyman on November 19, 1940. To their union they raised three children: Marilyn, Holly, and Wayne. They lived on the homestead farm southwest of Regent until moving into their home in Hettinger in 1980, the home she loved because Eddie built it for her. She lived there until being moved into Western Horizon’s Care Center in the fall of 2015. She tried with all of her might to stay at her home as long as she could.
She enjoyed crocheting, crafting, quilting, embroidery, collecting dolls, watching birds, gardening, raising flowers, dancing, playing organ, polka music, reading, and crosswords. Together, she and Eddie enjoyed camping in their motorhome, traveling, wintering in Texas and Arizona. She was a member of the Cedar Homemakers Club with her oldest living friend, Marie Lampl, who she missed dearly when Marie moved to Fargo.
Grateful for sharing her life are her daughters, Marilyn (Jay) Skaarvold and Holly (Richard) Wyman, of Hettinger; son, Wayne (Marlys) Honeyman of Woodbury, MN; grandchildren, Nancy Reimer, Teresa (Steve) Schwartzwalter, Jamie (Vickie) Schwartz, Heather (Carl) Ebert, Gwen (Mark) Praus, Jessica (Jesse) Nelson, LeiLani (Donald) Melling, Joshua Honeyman, Trevor (Jennifer) Wyman, and Seth (Rebecca) Honeyman; great-grandchildren, Tylor Schwarzwalter, Amanda Reimer, Kaylee Schwartzwalter, Allison Schwartz, Amber Schwartz, Joslyn Ebert, Logan Ebert, Kolson Melling, Ava Nelson, Eleanor Nelson, Kolby Melling, Izaac Honeyman, Owen Praus, Sophia Nelson, Kylie Wyman, James Nelson, Lander Praus, Braelynn Wyman, Kaison Melling, and Mathew Honeyman; sister, Frances (Fred) Marshall ;and brother, Mike (Evelyn) Krug.
