Lady Wildfire beat Bowman County

The Mott-Regent lady Wildfire came to Bowman County last Thursday looking for another tally in the win column, and they found one.

The Mott-Regent lady Wildfire came to Bowman County last Thursday looking for another tally in the win column, and they found one.

On an evening where Bowman County recognized their homecoming court—which included Queen and Middle Blocker Taylor Powell—Mott-Regent swept the lady Bulldogs for a 3-0 victory.

After being down 3-0 in the opening set, the lady Wildfire answered with three of their own, and then the volleys began.

The two teams battled through the first set and kept it close to the end. But Mott-Regent ultimately came out with the first victory, 25-23.

The second set was just as competitive as the first. With the two team fairly evenly matched, the competition was great for the crowd as the second set was competitive until the very end, when Mott-Regent pulled out a 25-21 win.

The third set was all lady Wildfire, as they dominated the lady Bulldogs and won the third and final set 25-12, sealing the sweeping victory.

Leading the way for kills was junior MaLynn Kautzman who had a game high 12 kills. Senior Sadie Ambers followed with 11. Junior Maddison Johnson had nine kills. Johnson also led the lady Wildfire in blocks with two.

Senior Libero Abbey Kautzman had two aces and MaLynn Kautzman tallied two as well.

A.Kautzman had nine digs and senior outside hitter Amber Friedt had six followed by M. Kautzman with six.

Senior setter Alyssa Myers led the lady Wildfire with a game high 17 assists. Friedt had six assists and junior setter Sabrina Keinzle followed with four.
