After being cancelled twice before, the Bowman and Hettinger- Scranton Babe Ruth teams finally met on the field for 2015.
The teams played two five-inning games at Hettinger with the home team Bears coming out on top, 9-0 and 7-5. In the opening game, Jarad Mattis started and finished for Hettinger- Scranton, giving up two hits, striking out 12, walking three and hitting two batters. The only inning that he was in trouble was the fourth. After striking out the lead-off hitter he hit two batters and walked one to load the bases. He then struck out the next two batters to get out of the inning with no runs scored. Leading the Bears in hitting was Jacob Dix, Ethan Dupper, Mac Buckmier and Bo Wilson who all had two hits. Andrew Miller was the losing pitcher for Bowman.
There were a few changes to the starting lineup for both teams in the second game. Hettinger-Scranton scored two in the first inning with the help of Bowman errors. Bowman came back in the second inning to tie the game with two runs with the help of four walks by Hettinger- Scranton pitching. Hettinger-Scranton followed that up with one in the second, two in the third and two in the fourth.
Mason Dafoe pitched the first three innings, Warrick Dilse pitched the fourth and Mellmer finished up in the fifth. Mattis had two hits and scored three times. Miller was the hitting star for Bowman as he had three of the four hits for Bowman which included two doubles. He also had a double in the first game.
