Region 7 boys basketball had a couple of names appear on the All-State Class B roster that was released last week. The All-State First Team had five members while the All-State Second Team had 10.
Hettinger/Scranton’s Hayden Sadowsky was named to the All-State First Team roster after leading the Night Hawks to a third place finish in the Region 7 tournament.
Sadowsky averaged 24.5 points and five rebounds on the season. The 5-8, junior guard also averaged 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals on the season. The Night Hawks finished 21-4 with a 17-3 region 7 record.
New England’s Daniel Prince was named to the All-State Second Team. The 6-5 senior averaged close to a double-double this year, averaging 15.8 points and 9.9 rebounds per game. Prince led his team to a Region 7 championship and a berth in the state tournament. It was New England’s first trip to the state tournament in 18 years.
Prince also averaged five assists, 3.4 steals and 1.9 blocks per game during the 2014-2015 season.
All-State First Team: Brad Heidlebaugh (Rugby), Carter Kretchman (Oak Grove), Christian Kvilvang (North Star), Trayvon McKay (Four Winds-Minnewauken), Hayden Sadowsky (Hettinger/Scranton).
All-State Second Team: Christian Adams (Oak Grove), Austin Lee (Berthold), Carter Mauch (Hankinson), Jace Pederson (Hatton-Northwood), Hunter Pinke (South Border), Dalton Poitra (St. John), Daniel Prince (New England), Jon Purimtun (Linton-HMB), Brock Robbins (Cavalier), Adam White (Ellendale).
