Slope County holds ‘Fall Wind-Up’ party for the 4-H Club

As the season grows colder, things are beginning to wrap up, including 4H.

On Oct. 25, the Slope County 4-H held their Fall Wind-Up Party at the fairgrounds in Amidon.

As the season grows colder, things are beginning to wrap up, including 4H.

On Oct. 25, the Slope County 4-H held their Fall Wind-Up Party at the fairgrounds in Amidon.

The evening was filled with elections, awards, food, halloween costumes, and a lot of fun.

Awards were given to the best costume, one from each of the Cloverbud, Junior and Senior members of the Slope County 4-H Club.

Julie Claire Sarsland won the contest for the  Cloverbuds, the Junior winner was Carmen Burke. And the senior member chosen with best costume was Alecia Turner.

The adults even got involved in the fun, Julie Rafferty was awarded best costume among the adult participants.

The Slope County 4-H club also recognized all their members and their respected year in the club.

Cloverbuds: Grady Bock, Tucker Bock, Claire Burke, Kallie Dinius, Julie Claire Sarsland, Paige Pagel, Samantha Fitterer, Ryan Rustan, Emberly Van Daele, Joel Schulz, Aiden Rafferty, Jaren Rafferty, McKoy Stecher.

First Year: Logan Clevenger, Justin Katherine, Hannah Frank, Carmen Burke, Caleb Sarsland, Brady Rustan, Jess Schulz, Mace Stuber, Rayya Clevenger.

Third Year: Emily Dinius, Avery Frank, Machael Frank, Rachelle Kathrein, Jacob Steiner, Logan Youngstrand, Alecia Turner, Hayden Turner.

Fifth Year: Eve Stegner, Tate Nordby

Seventh Year: Mac Stuber

Ninth Year: Ty Nordby.

The event also saw 16 awards being handed out for various activities throughout the 4-H season.

Those awards included: Do Your Own Thing (Alicia Turner), Welding (Alecia Turner), Arts (Alecia Turner), Photography (Alecia Turner), Sr. Food (Alecia Turner), Jr. Food (Jacob Steiner), Horse (Mac Stuber), Sweing (Grace Dinius), Creative Arts (Grace Dinius), Sr. Goat (Mac Stuber), Jr. Goat (Emily Dinius), Sr. Beef (Mac Stuber), Jr. Beef (Mitch Stuber), Electricity (Jacob Steiner), Health (Jacob Steiner), Woodworking (Jess Schulz).

The evening also awarded the top awards for both senior members and junior members.

Mitch Stuber was awarded the Outstanding Jr. 4-H Member award, and Hannah Nordby was awarded the top honor among the senior group. Both were given commemorative jackets. The jackets were sponsored by West Plains Inc. and Fitterer Oil.
