Update BREAKING NEWS: Two women escape from the state prison in New England

According to multiple reports, the two escaped inmates have been apprehended.

At 1:09 a.m. Thursday morning, the residents of New England were notified via the North Dakota Emergency Notification System that two inmates at the Dakota Women’s Correctional and Rehabilitation Center escaped late Wednesday night.

At 1:09 a.m. Thursday morning, the residents of New England were notified via the North Dakota Emergency Notification System that two inmates at the Dakota Women’s Correctional and Rehabilitation Center escaped late Wednesday night.

The message was issued by the Hettinger County Sheriff’s office and instructed people to dial 911 if they saw the inmates.

Jessica Marie Briggs is described as having long blond hair with pink highlights. Justice Maxine Lang is described as having short, dark hair. Both were wearing prison issued khaki pants with one wearing a gray beanie stocking cap with a sweatshirt, while the other inmate had a long sleeve shirt.

Standard protocol during this matter is complete lockdown at the correctional facility. There is no transportation to and from the facility unless its a case of incoming inmates. Meals and medication are delivered to the inmates.

According to a news release, the inmates could be using a black, 1992 GMC pickup truck as transportation, with plate numbers JPV316.

According to the North Dakota Department of Corrections’ website, Briggs’ date of birth is 11-12-1982 and her estimated release date is 4-2-2015. Lang’s date of birth is 6-19-1993 and her estimated release date is 11-9-19.
