Both treatment and travel costs have been adding up for three-year-old Sage Ouradnik and her family.

So, Scott Bachmeier decided to do something to help the cause.

Bachmeier organized a gun raffle to raise money for Ouradnik, who was diagnosed with leukemia, and her family.

Tickets for the raffle were $50 a piece and there were five guns that were given away.

Sponsors of the guns included Dakota Prairie Outdoors Radio & Southwest Friends of NRA, donating a Mossberg Silver Reserve and a Mossberg MVP .223; Ace Hardware of Bowman donating a Savage-B Mag; C.C. Gunworks of Bowman donated a Henry .22 Mag lever action; and Bryan and Jeanine Clendenen and Thrivent Financial donated a Ruger .380 pistol.

Ouradnik was able to help in selecting the winners.

She first picked which gun would be drawn for, then out of a separate container picked the winner of that gun.

The winners of the guns were: Tasha and Danny Heinrich winning the Mossberg MVP .223; Lavern Kulseth winning the Mossberg Silver Reserve; Terry Wilhelm winning the Savage-B Mag; Mike Teske winning the Ruger .380; and Jason Ruggles winning the Henry .22 Mag lever action.

A maximum of 350 tickets were sold and the event raised $17,500.
