Mary Frank, age 94 of Mott, N.D. passed from this life June 5, 2014 surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial for Mary was held at St. Vincent’s Catholic Church in Mott. Fr. Charles Zins and Deacon Robert Stockert officiated with burial in Sunnyslope Cemetery at Mott.

Serving as Honorary Casketbearers were her granddaughters, Shari Frith, Tracy Hintz, Kristy Erhardt, and Tricia Schwartz. Serving as Active Casketbearers are her grandsons, Mark Erhardt, Rick, Shayne, and Darin Pollack, Todd and Jay Wentz, Johnnie Tighe, Jamie and Eric Schlosser.

Elisabeth M. Mayer (Mary) was born March 25, 1920, in Mott, N.D. to Joseph and Eva (Turk) Mayer.

As a young woman she moved to Rochester, Minn. where she worked at St. Mary’s Hospital and met Jerome Frank.

They were united in marriage June 10, 1940 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Rochester. Mary and Jerome continued working at the hospital until moving to Sheffield and eventually to Mott where they farmed for 22 years. After operating “The Curve” nightclub for 11 years, they purchased “The Cactus Inn” in 1968, selling it in 1982.

To Mary’s friends and family she was a pillar in the community, volunteering in church activities, and organizing family events, her German potato salad always in hand.

As the matriarch of five generations she tirelessly proved to all that her family was everything to her.

Keeping her in their fondest memories are her five daughters and sons- in-law: LaVonn and Martin Erhardt, St. Helens, Ore; Janet and Arnold Schmitt, Mott, N.D.; Patricia Tighe, Casper, Wyo.; Doris Omdahl,

Bismarck, N.D. and Mary Jo and Orville Schlosser, Scappoose, Ore.; 13 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 25 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by Jerome, her husband of 67 years, her parents, one grandson, Michael Pollack Jr., and brothers, Joe P. and

Frank G. Mayer; and sisters, Lena Mayer, Eva Schweiger, Anna Miller, and Kathryn Trieb.

A memorial has been established.
