For the past few years, the Broken Brick has offered a variety of dining options to the citizens of New England. Originally offering deli-type soup and sandwiches, they have also offered dinner specials on the evenings of Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. On May 12 they started to offer yet another option, coffee drinks.

Operator Patti Juliano had purchased the coffee machine two years ago and had always wanted to get it going, but she couldn’t find the right time or the best space to start. She finally put together the perfect spot for it.

After three months of working late nights and weekends, Juliano finished renovations and dubbed the new spot ‘Broken Brick Brew’. Completing the renovations herself, she converted a bedroom into a nook in the back that houses the coffee bar, shelving for other products offered along with the equipment to make the coffee drinks.

“What she’s done in here, the whole vibe just says coffee,” Alisha Crawford said. Crawford was recently hired as the barista of the new business. Named for the coffee.

For customers wanting to have a sweet treat with their coffee, Broken Brick Brew also offers a variety of freshly baked pastries, offering different varieties every morning.

Another amenity Juliano’s business offers her customers? Wifi.

Patrons have the luxury to sit and enjoy their beverage and still be connected if they want to get some work done, or just play on their tablet or smart phone.

Juliano said that they also want to get a small television in their for the customers enjoyment.

As the summer months approach and the temperature warms up, Broken Brick Brew will also be serving iced drinks for those that need to cool down but still want enjoy the taste of coffee.Juliano also hopes to extend her menu to feature fruit drinks and malts.

“As soon as the pool opens, then I’m going to do more of the fruit drinks for the kids,” Juliano said.

Right now Broken Brick Brew is open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. but will likely have extended hours when the summer season gets here. The Broken Brick will also be offering lunch again  Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
