New England Eighth Grade girls take first in tournament

The New England Eighth Grade basketball team traveled to Belfield Friday, Dec. 20th and defeated the Wildfire from Mott-Regent 46-13 in the first round of the District 13 Tournament. Paige Ehlis led the Tigers in scoring with 16 and she was joined in double figures by Jordan Kass with 10. Hannah Billock scored five and Bry Friedt added four in the losing cause for the Wildfire.

The following morning the Tigers defeated Heart River in South Heart 31-30. Hailee Kuske led the Tigers with 11 points, Jordan Kass added seven and Elizabeth Kaufman chipped in six.

The Tigers defeated the Bulldogs from Bowman County in the Championship Game by the score of 23-14. Paige Ehlis led in scoring with 14 points and Jordan Kass added six.
