Cabinet members will serve until July 1, 2014. Lions District 5NW, composed of the western half of North Dakota, includes 49 Lions clubs.

Two new Cabinet members are New England Lions members, while the other is from the Regent Lions Club. Immediate Past District Governor Lewellyn Rustan, of the New England Lions, is the new Membership and Extension Chair; Walter (Butch) Frank, also of the New England Lions, serves at Information & Technology Chair and District 5NW Website Manager; Regent Lion Lance Jacobs serves at District 5NW Treasurer.

Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service club, with 1.35 million members in approximately 46,000 clubs in 207 countries and geographical areas. For nearly 100 years, whenever there has been a need at home or around the world, Lions members — men and women — have been there to help. They live their Lions motto, “We Serve.”

Their volunteer efforts extend beyond supporting vision care, addressing unmet health and education needs worldwide. Lions make a strong commitment to youth outreach programs, environmental improvements, construction of homes for the disabled, diabetes education, and hearing programs; and through their foundation they provide disaster relief in the U.S. and around the world.
