Oien also owns the Economy Drug Store in Elgin. All Mott Drug staff will remain on board, with Oien being in the Mott store every morning and Charity Ottmar and Deborah Libis staffing the afternoon hours and prescription needs. Oien sees no product changes at this time. Changes at this time will be the new hours; the store will be closed on Saturdays beginning March 1st

“Purchasing the Mott Drug store,” Oien stated, “was an opportunity to keep the drug store open, and benefit both Elgin and Mott and surrounding area”.

Oien was educated at NDSU and came to Elgin from Binford, ND where he grew up, purchasing the Elgin drug store in 1997. Since then the Elgin and Mott stores have worked together. New signage for the name change is in the works.
