Wildfire come up short against Central McLean

The Mott-Regent Wildfire traveled to Underwood Aug. 31 to face the Cougars of Central McLean (Turtle Lake-Mercer/Underwood/McClusky) in a Region 4 matchup.

The Mott-Regent Wildfire traveled to Underwood Aug. 31 to face the Cougars of Central McLean (Turtle Lake-Mercer/Underwood/McClusky) in a Region 4 matchup.

Quarterback Taylor Zentner led the Wildfire in the rushing department with 53 yards and a touchdown in ten attempt. Taylor also completed 13 of 31 passes and a touchdown. He was also intercepted once in the game. Jacob Greff was on the receiving end of six passes for 53 yards and a touchdown. Jonah Honeyman hauled in four passes for 53 yards and Tyler Zentner grabbed three passes for 36 yards. Greff had 45 rushing yards in ten attempts and Logan Haberstroh had his number called twice for 17 yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, Greff was credited with 13 solo tackles and five assists, Jonah had eight solos and five assists, Tyler had eleven solos and Taylor had five solos and six assists. Brett Messmer was credited with nine total defensive points, Ben and Jon Friedt had four points each and Mark Steiner was credited with one assist.

Tyler had one interception for 14 yards and Jonah recovered a fumble.
