The New England Tigers volleyball team hosted the Beulah Miners the evening of Aug. 28th. The Miners took a quick 5-0 lead until Heather Kuntz scored New England’s first point with a block. The Miners continued to chalk up the score, the Tigers would add a point here and there, and Beulah took the first game 25-11.

Game two was quite different than the first as The Miners took a 3-0 lead before the Tigers awoke. The score was tied at three all, eight all, 15-15, until Beulah slowly slipped ahead and eventually won 25-20.

Gabbi Hanson started game 3 with an ace, Bryanna had a kill and the rest of the Tigers joined in as they took a 5-1 lead. The team rallied together and took a 13-6 lead. A series of mistakes overtook the Tigers and the Miners caught up with their opponent and tied the score at 15-15. The two teams traded points until eventually New England prevailed 25-23.

Renewed with confidence, the Tigers again took a quick lead of 12-6, before the Miners started chipping away at that lead and the Tigers led 20-19, 21-19, 22-19, 22-21 and finally The Tigers pulled out the victory 25-21.

The final game began very close, but with the score tied at five all, the Tigers quit and the Miners cruised to a 15-7 victory.
