The Mott-Regent Wildfire volleyball team hosted the Coyotes from Grant County at the Armory in Mott on the evening of Aug. 30th. The Coyotes went to the State Tournament last fall and returned many of their starters, and the Wildfire knew that they would have their hands full if they wanted a victory. The first game was close and hard fought by both teams. The Coyotes led throughout the first game, but the Wildfire just would not give up. Grant County won the first game 25-22.

The second game started close, but the Coyotes suddenly gained speed with a 6-0 run, each team traded points and the Coyotes again went on another 6-0 run and the Wildfire were in trouble. They fell in the second game 25-10.

The Coyotes were in complete control in the third game when they jumped out to a 5-0 lead, a 10-5 run and coasted to the 25-16 victory.
