It was day meant for golfing Sunday and 34 competitive golfers came to play. Three teams tied for the top prize, with seven under course par, so these teams came together to make one great drive of the day! The playoff challenge was, hitting one ball from the 8th tee off, over the driveway and down the slope and roll onto the number six green and be closest to the pin. First place was won by the team of Josh and Ron Herner, Tim Bieber, Jared Kaufman, Jeri Schmidt and Ray Steiner. Coming in second was the team of Greg Fryer, Phil Rebel, Ray Schiwal, Brandon Schaible and Craig Miller. Other accomplishments of the day were Ron Herner, closest to the pin on number 8, and Josh Herner, closest to the pin on number two and Jeri Schmidt made the play of the day by smoothly sinking the longest putt.
The scheduled season is coming quickly to a close. The annual Stangbye is scheduled for Aug. 26th and the Appreciation Scramble will be played Sept. 9th.
