Elmo Leonard Amundson, age 77, of Buffalo, Minn. passed away Oct. 23, 2013 at The U of M Fairview Medical Center in Minneapolis.

A Memorial service for Elmo was held Oct. 28 at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo. Pastor Ted Vanderpan and Pastor Luke Schmidt officiated.

He was born July 26, 1936 in Amidon, N.D. the son of John and Thora (Synsby) Amundson.

Elmo was raised in Hume Township and graduated from New England, N.D. in 1955.

Elmo L. Amundson and Darlene Miner were joined in holy marriage May 27, 1961, in Gaylord, Minn. God blessed their marriage with two children.

Elmo was former employee for 25 years by Food Engineering and traveled the world for his work.

He enjoyed RC airplanes, downhill skiing, motorcycles, fishing and archery/guns.

Elmo is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Darlene; son, Scott (Brenda) Amundson; daughter, Layne Zeik; grandchildren: Colton and Katie Amundson and Casey and Jamie Zeik; great-grandchildren: Lleyton Amundson, Madeline Amundson and Louise Gelfand and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother: Alvin Amundson.
