Lew was born Sept. 16, 1923 to the late Dwight and Jesse (Schnebly) Maxwell. He was an honored WWII veteran, a beloved husband of Angela J. (Shaw) Maxwell, loving father to Gloria J. Johnson of Blackwell Okla,, Dennis N. Maxwell and his wife Rene of Enid, Okla. and Angela V. Johnson and her husband Paul of Stoughton; grandfather to Leah Kayajanian of Los Angeles, Calif. and the late Neil A. Kayajanian of Nardin, Okla.; brother of Almeta Virginia Ruiz of Blackwell, Okla., and the late Harold, Marion, Woodrow, Lyle and Gayle Maxwell all of Oregon, Violet Willcut of Oregon, Pearl Irvine of Washington; uncle to many nieces and nephews; life member and past commander of VFW Post 2017 of Dedham, American Legion Post 18 of Dedham, VFW Post 3389 of Randolph; past Master of Constellation Lodge AF & AM of Dedham, member of Celestial Lodge AF & AM of Westwood; owner of Angela’s Barber Shop of Dedham; retired electrical engineer, worked at Boston Coast Guard Base for more than 30 years; updated lighthouses along the East Coast; enjoyed bowling and traveling to visit family and a loving friend to all.

Following cremation, many gathered Dec. 18, 2013 for a memorial service in Waitt Funeral Chapel at Waitt Funeral Home, Brockton, Mass.
